Finally, a typhoon in Hong Kong

Typhoons in Hong Kong are like snow days back in the US. If it reaches level 8, offices shut down. We haven't had any during work hours this year until Mon, Sept 14 finally a typhoon 8 was hoisted at 6:00p.m.

End of the work day, but nonetheless, we all went home and listened to the huge wind gusts and rain all night. It was a big one as you can see from the Observatory screen shot. Fortunately, no real damage. Not like poor Taiwan that had a horrible typhoon over 1 month ago with landslides covering whole villages. They are still recovering from that one.

The level 8 stayed this morning until 10a.m. so it's back to work by noon. A half day at home isn't too bad.

Another Sunday Dog Walk
On Sunday, I went for a walk on the peak with Laura, Richard, Mel and Ferg and their dogs Baz, Ralphie, Gorby and Boris (the gorgeous Beagle).

Mel's fostering a puppy named Nelson who joined too. He's not the best looking pup so it's proving hard to find him a home but I'm sure we will. He's a well behaved and happy little boy.

Since the typhoon was coming, Sunday was miserably hot and sweaty on the walk.

The dogs stopped at the country park for a rest and of course stopped for a swim in the stream on the way down.

Finally, we arrived at the bottom and stopped at the pub so the humans could cool down with some beverages. The dogs chomped on ice and passed out in the middle of the bar. A relaxed Sunday afternoon.
