Bailey is not such an old tired dog after all. She had a big and exciting Saturday on Lamma Island and is curled up under the table now catching up on her sleep.A friend was celebrating his birthday and a group of us took the ferry to Lamma Island for a walk to the beach, a swim and birthday dinner at a cool outdoor restuarant called the Dali Lamma.
Bailey kept up with all the other young dogs and was a perfect angel. The walk to the beach was about 25 minutes and I did get to carry her a good portion of it since it was blazing hot and her legs were pretty tired. As soon as we hit the beach I went straight into the water with the other dogs and Bailey watched with Laura for a bit but then joined us. The water was the warmest I've ever swam in. Bailey loved it (as long as she could touch the bottom).

fter a swim, we hung out on the beach and Bailey managed to dump a baggie of dog kibble in the sand and then spent the next hour amusing herself digging in the sand trying to find every last kibble. Lots of sand in her poo on Sunday.
There were more than 10 dogs at the restaurant and plenty of other island dogs roaming through.Bailey got along with them all and just chilled out sniffing and begging.

Beagles were well represented with Boris, Bailey and puppy beagle mix Charlie. I tried to get pictures of them together but the beagles were too focused on food to pose for the camera.
Here's birthday boy Aaron with his newest rescue pug Louie fast asleep on his lap.It was a long, hot day that ended with Bailey performing her party trick of howling "I love you" on the return ferry trip. Fortunately, everyone thought it was cute and we didn't get thrown overboard and instead had to do many repeat performances.
