Dandy Crosses the Rainbow Bridge Today

Our little Dandy died today.

His chronic kidney disease caught up with him surprisingly fast this past week and he just couldn't hold on any longer.

These are some pictures from his healthier days with us when he was looking quite happy and content.

Dandy was camera shy so I don't really have many more to share (unlike Bailey who will pose for a camera anytime one appears)

He started losing his appetite about 10 days ago and this past Sunday he started refusing to eat in earnest. He hasn't eaten anything substantial since Sunday and on Tuesday and Wednesday, he couldn't keep any food or water down without vomiting and all he wanted to do was to lie still.

I brought him to the vet this morning and the vet told me what we already knew in our hearts. His body had started shutting down and it was Dandy's time to go.

Even though Dandy only lived with us for 6 short weeks, I'm glad we were able to give him some love in his last days.

Sweet little Dandy, we'll miss him.
