There's a new male in my life and his name is Charlie. Charlie is a 15 year old Shihtzu mix from Hong Kong Dog Rescue who had a really bad screw worm infection on his face and needs a quiet home to recover so has joined our pack. Charlie is really O-L-D. He doesn't move much and in addition to his yucky wound (which doesn't really bother him much) he has some problems breathing due to his air pipes. Vets say this is temporary since they had to stick a tube down his throat during treatment so we'll see. Poor guy sounds like he can't get any air in.
Bailey is as gentle as can be and both of them don't really take notice of each other and share the apartment like a perfect elderly couple.
Bailey has her own issues to deal with in fact. She's been licking her foot more than ever and the wound is getting even grosser than I imagined was possible. So I've tried the e-collar again. Again, yoga-dog managed to stick her foot around the monstrous e-collar and rip off the bandage within 45 minutes of me leaving her alone when I went for a jog. I even put some chili sauce on the outside of the bandage to deter her but she powered through the taste she hates most and got the darn thing off. When I got home, both the e-collar and bandage were on the floor and Bailey was looking at me as if to ask, "what are you going to try next?"Last week, I had a business trip to Taiwan and this coming weekend, a 4-day vacation to Thailand to see my cousin Johnny re-marry his wife Pim in a traditional Buddhist wedding. I'm ready for a vacation!
