Sunday April 26th was another Hong Kong Dog Rescue event called Bark and Splash.Again, Laura and I were on the event planning committee and were in charge of the contests.
There were tons of fun doggy things to do and if it didn't rain on Sunday, this would have been a smashing success. Instead, we had about 300-400 people who braved the rain and had a very good day. Lots of pictures below.
Contests: We had contests for the biggest dog, smallest dog, loudest dog, doggy swimsuit contest, waggiest tail, best kisser, best pet trick and fastest eater. (this is the winner of smallest dog)
Loudest DogBailey had been practicing for the loudest dog contest (for the past 12 years) but Mark got out of Cantonese class late and didn't bring Bailey in time to participate. So sad, she would have blown all the other contest entrants away!
Biggest DogThe biggest dog winner was a Great Dane that had been a rescue dog. He was the hit of the whole day.

Swimsuit Contest
The swimsuit contest was funny and here's Brooke and Max hoping for the gold medal.

Celebrities
We had some celebrity models judge the contests. So famous they just go by Lisa S and Ana R and of course our HKDR Ambassador, model Rosemary Vandenbrouke. Lisa had recently adopted a dog from HKDR.

Jami Gong, owner of the Standup Comedy Club was the MC and Vivek, a local comedian.
The Fastest Eater This contest was the most popular by far. This labrador won by a very long country mile. He doesn't chew I don't think. Mark was very proud that this dog won since he was the "hot dog giver" for this dog during the contest.

In the Fastest Eater, each dog had to eat 1 hot dog as fast as possible.

Best kisser contest

Adoptable Dogs
Lots of HKDR dogs came that are available for adoption.

Agility Course
There was an agility course which was popular.
GroomingAlso dog groomer association there giving hair cuts.
There was a huge area with doggy wading pools too but I don't have pictures of that.
