Mark's BDay
I had a surprise birthday party for Mark on Nov 7th (his bday is Nov 8th) We did a joint bday party for him and Richard who's bday was Nov 12th.
A friend's company has their own boat and let us use it. We had 30 or so friends on the boat for a night of pizza, Pearl Jam and of course some beer.
The biggest surprise was that Rob and Alexis came from Switzerland and Germany! They were stopping over in Hong Kong on their way to Australia that weekend and arrived in town just hours before the party. What luck.
On Mark's actual bday, we went out to dinner again with Rob, Alexis and Winnie at the Spicy Crab. The "Asahi beer girl" as they have in these local restaurants, posed for a picture with us, she's in between Mark and Rob. (Her only job is to go from table to table making sure we all have enough beer.)Hong Kong Dog Rescue Peak to Fong Dog Walk
On Nov 16th, we had one of the biggest events for the Hong Kong Dog Rescue charity which is a dog walk from the top of the Peak down to LKF bar area in Central Hong Kong where we had all kinds of activities planned. There were 500 dogs registered and many more showed up!
I was in charge of planning and organizing the contests and had been running around like a crazy person for weeks and was a lunatic the day of the event.
The contests were stuff like HK's coolest mutt, dog owner lookalike, pet trick and the big finale was a fastest eater contest -- Man against Beast. It was a hot dog eating contest and we had 2 beagles registered and I was sure one would win, but some crazy terrier mutt was amazing and beat everyone. Very impressive and would have put Bailey to shame if she would have been able to come, but the old girl stayed at home for this one.The men of course were much slower than the dogs.
Lots of money raised, lots of fun and I'm so glad it's over.Work, work, work
In addition to these big events, last week was the biggest work week of the year for me with the annual cosmetic convention in Hong Kong. We had clients from all over the world in town and I had back to back meetings and events from the crack of dawn to late at night. Here's one of the more laid back evenings on a boat trip with clients. Soooooooooo glad that week is over.
Last but not least, there's been a trip to China sprinkled in there for a factory visit.
I now can't wait for this weekend where I hope to do nothing.
