A visit from Phil and Sylvia

It's another crazy busy week so not much time to blog except to add a few pictures and comments.

Mark's former colleague (Phil) from Bullivant is here visiting with his wife Sylvia so we've tried to show them Hong Kong.

I took them to see the monkeys last Saturday which was cool except we got stuck in a huge downpour and had to take shelter along with the monkeys.

It was strangely comforting to be sharing the shelter with all these momma monkeys and their babies sitting in the rafters.

They just looked at us with that look in their eye that most tired moms of newborns have.

Happy Mark
After monkey mountain we did some shopping in the markets, got a foot rub and had some good Chinese dim sum dinner. On the MTR on the way home I couldn't resist taking a picture and because Mark looks so incredibly irratated that I did it, I'm posting the pic. Hee hee.

Spicy Crab

We also took Phil and Sylvia to the Spicy Crab for dinner and ordered the "very spicy" crab which we've never done before. I wouldn't even try it, but those guys said it was lip numbing hot.

Bangkok Riots

Phil and Sylvia are in Bangkok right now, returning tonight (if they are lucky). Unfortunately, there have been more political protests in Bangkok with lots of military presence in the cities and reported riots. We'll have to get the reports from them when they return. Last week during the work week, they went to Vietnam (Ho Chi Mihn City).

Melamine in Milk
The other big news in Hong Kong now of course is the melamine in milk scare. My local HK friends say they aren't surprised and no one seems too panicked here. But I'm panicked because all my chocolate covered M&M candies have been recalled!!!! If I end up with kidney stones or effects of melamine, the true amount of how much chocolate covered M&Ms I really eat will be revealed. I'm in withdrawal.

Nice pic of Mark. Also you so should have tried just a little bit of that spicy crab and have Mark take a pic to prove it.
