It's been a busy week so I'm really late updating the blog and even the update is going to be short and sweet with mostly pictures. Mark's parents arrived in
Hong Kong Thursday, January 18th and will be here through the 31st. They've almost been here 1 week and claim to be having a great time. They are exploring the city like seasoned pros while Mark and I are at work and then they enjoy lazy evenings in our little apartment before resting up for another eventful day of sightseeing.

This weekend, we took a trip to the South side of Hong Kong Island to the town called Stanley. As you can see, Mark enjoyed the close quarters in the taxi ride to Stanley. (I lucked out and jumped in the roomy front seat with the driver, hee hee)
While in Stanley, we went to the Maritime museum which is inside a historic building that was moved brick by brick from Central Hong Kong to Stanley when they decided to build the Bank of China building in Central. The local Chinese believe the building is haunted by hundreds of ghosts of all the people that died in the building during WWII. (I didn't tell that to Mark's mom before going there.) We also took a walk to an ancient well and shrine along the beach.
That's Mark by the water checking out the well, and Kar
en seeing if she could fit in the itty bitty door of the shrine. Everything in China is made for itty bitty people
, even doors.
We also happened upon an old fashioned Chinese outdoor play which we watched for awhile.
On Sunday, Mark, Larry, Dana and Bailey took a hike up Mt. Butler which is the nice hike behind our nei
ghborhood.
I'll write more updates later this week when there is more time.
