Bailey had back surgery last night. She had 2 slipped discs and had partial paralysis in her hind quarters. The surgery went well and she's in the hospital on pain medications today under observation. The doctor says she has some feeling back in her hind legs but we won't know more until tomorrow.
We first noticed she was in pain on Tuesday night when we came home from work. She was limping and we thought it was her left leg. Arthritis or something. Wednesday, she was unable to stand without falling and we took her to the doctor Thursday morning where they gave her a shot of Rimadyl antiinflamatory and prescribed crate rest, no movement. On Friday morning, she was dragging her back end and unable to lift herself up so we took her to a specialist where she got an MRI and discovered 2 slipped discs. She had surgery immediately. I think she did it jumping off the bed or something, but who knows.
I'll write more tomorrow when we know more.
