A visit from Alexis and Rob

Our friends Alexis and Rob came for a quick weekend visit last weekend. They spent Christmas and New Year's in Australia and stopped in Hong Kong on their way back to Zurich and Germany where they now live.

We tried to keep up with them, but you know those Australian/Germans and their beer.... (kidding, they blamed us for corrupting them, but really its a toss up.)

We had dinner at Bistro Manchu on Friday night with our friends Claudia and John. Mark and Rob were ostricized to an outdoor seating area.

On Saturday, Winnie introduced us to a Japanese bbq place in Causeway Bay. We were too hungry to wait for her to arrive so we tried ordering some appetizers (and failed). This tasted as good as it looks. Aftertaste of pigs butt that lasted until the next day.

It was sad to have them leave after just a few days, but I'll be going to Bologna Italy in April and we've already made plans to meet up and have a weekend together at the end of my work trip.

Taiwan Wei Ya dinner
Last week, I spent 2 days in Taiwan for my Taiwan office Wei Ya dinner (celebrating Chinese New Year). And, this coming week, I leave for 2 WEEKS in UK and Vienna for work trips. I'm not looking forward to it since it's extremely cold there now and I no longer can tolerate cold weather.

Champagne Breakfast
On Saturday this weekend, we did a dog walk with just the girls and brought champagne, cheese, fruits etc.

Great idea Laura! We had 3 beagles in the group of dogs and they were desparate to jump on the table and dig into the goodies.

I didn't bring Bailey and was so glad I didn't since her begging is relentless.

Looking forward to returning these favours. Swiss style with beers, cheese and chocolate.
