Christmas in USA

We arrived in Portland on Saturday Dec 19th and are spending the first part of our 11 days in USA with the Peterson clan. On Dec 24th, we'll head up to Seattle to see the Sovar side of the family. (me blogging in Peterson kitchen)

Both sets of parents met us at the airport on Saturday when we arrived (my parent's drove all the way down from Seattle) so I guess they must have missed us.

Our niece Ella turns 9 years old today Dec 21 and we have a family bday party. Mark's brother Eric, wife Amy and their 3 kids are flying in from Lewiston, Idaho tonight for the party and for Christmas so we'll have all 3 of the Peterson boys and their families in the same place. Makes Mark's mom tear up just to talk about it:-)

Although seeing the family is of course the most exciting part of the trip, seeing the pets gets me most excited. Marvin the wonder dog (Mark's parent's dog) is just an angel. A one-eyed soft fluffy and old angel.

Mark's brother Craig has a new dog, Brodie, a 9 month old golden retriever. He is an incredibly happy and friendly boy. Their new kitten Murphy is also so friendly he's almost a dog. Brodie and Murphy love each other and play, play, play.

Our nephew Blake will be 13 in April and I can't believe how much he's changed. He's really a teenager now and all grown up. Ella is pretty, social and talkative, just like her mom. Typical of me, I have no pictures of them. Only pics of the dogs.

Kristen had baking day on Sunday and I helped her by tasting the goodies.

Bailey and Tilly are back in Hong Kong with our helper Virgie. Virgie got Bailey this snazzy shirt because its a chilly 70 degrees in Hong Kong now. Tilly is wearing a fleece too. I miss them already.
