Only in Hong Kong

Mark's stuck in New York
Mark went on his business trip to New York last week and got stuck in a blizzard when they closed down the airports. Poor Mark, he hopes to be home to good ol Hong Kong in the next day or so if he can squeeze on a plane.

The best find ever!
It's springtime in Hong Kong and I've found a perfect jogging trail right near my house that goes along the waterfront! And, best of all, it's not all uphill like all the other trails I've found. It's almost flat!

It kills me this was right outside my door for the past 6 months and I didn't discover it until now. Below are some pictures of the sights along the path starting with the sign that greets you as you enter Quarry Bay park which is also the start of the jogging trail. As you can see, this is a beautiful park, but like everything in Hong Kong, it doesn't come without strict rules

(As a special treat to Mark's mom, there's a little something special hidden in each picture as a reminder of something you left behind during your visit)

Here's one of the many playground areas along the jogging path. The gorgeous tropical plants are giving off the sweetest smell right now. I haven't been able to track down which plant it is that smells so darn good, but I often "stop to smell the flowers" in my quest to answer that question. I think the locals might think I'm nuts.

This is the view from the waterfront part of the jog. There's a typhoon shelter where all the small fishing boats anchor and it gives it a picturesque look.

Not sure what this blow-up doll was doing along the path, but might have something to do with the Chinese New Year festivities since he's flanked by lucky kumquat trees on either side.

Only in Hong Kong
The Hello Kitty wedding picture has nothing to do with my jogging trail, but I had to take a picture because it was one of those "Only in Hong Kong" moments when I saw it. This is a major display in one of the posh shopping malls. Hello Kitty is a god here and her precious moments must be celebrated appropriately.

We're still in Florida but hopefully Mark made it back ok. I didn't jog your trail but I walked it several times including the time I walked back from the end of the tram bus line. We'll talk to you after we retrurn on the 28th if you aren't in Italy or somewhere else in the world.
Love Dad
