Shanghai Surprise

It’s been a busy week and I am in the midst of a last minute work related trip to Shanghai for a few days, so this week’s blog will be short and sweet. (Just like me, ha!) First impressions of Shanghai are that it is darned impressive. At night, it’s all lit up like Vegas with fancy lights on the buildings. We’ll see what the daytime brings. Of course, I found it funny to read the list of items I was prohibited to bring into China which included the usual list of firearms, drugs, live animals etc. But it also included any materials that might corrupt the moral decency of the people. Does my People magazine count? I wouldn’t even try to sneak in a Cosmopolitan

The week was filled with lots of work for me and lots more American football for Mark. He’s still waking up at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday night to catch college football and doing it again on Sunday for NFL. He’s crazy, but he loves it. I’ll do the same for the Oscars, so I shouldn’t make fun.

We’ve seen a little more of Hong Kong’s nightlife this week (Thanks Tara for being our young hip friend and getting us out. )

Unfortunately, we didn't get Christmas in September this week as I anticipated. All our belongings arrived by sea in HK Sept 22nd but they are stalled in customs and we won’t get them until Sept 28th! I guess we will have to wait another few days.

Signing out until next week…..
