Bailey's Kidneys

We got some bad news about Bailey today. Her kidneys are not functioning well and it's looking like it might be kidney disease. The vet says it is. I'm hanging on to hope its not.

3 weeks ago, she was sick and turned out it was colitis. I had brought her into the vet and they took some blood and found possible issues with her liver and kidney.

I brought her back in for a follow up blood test today and the levels were still the same which the vet said is a clear indication of the disease. We've got her on a KD diet for dogs with kidney problems now and we'll check her blood again next month.

We're not wanting to believe it since she's acting normal and showing no signs of any illness. We'll keep our hopes up and do whatever preventative measures we can to keep her happy and as healthy as possible for as long as possible. She's only 12 1/2.

Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, we've seen how kidney disease and kidney failure looks in the final stages because that's what Dandy had. It's a very sad day for Dana.
