The Best Seafood Dinner Ever

This past week started off with a work sponsored boat trip to Lamma Island (a small island West of Hong Kong about 1 hour boat trip across Victoria Harbour) for dinner and merriment with friends and colleagues. This was the 2nd time Mark and I took this trip with my office. The first time was back in June when we first visited Hong Kong and it was the momentous occasion when Mark first realized he likes seafood! Being someone who grew up in Seattle surrounded by great seafood, I love seafood and it's usually my protein of choice for meals, but until now, Mark has always said "no" to fish. After Lamma Island dinners, Mark actually enjoys seafood. It's just like the time he discovered he liked tomatoes after eating bruschetta in Rome.

The restaurant we went to is called the Rainbow Restaurant and they serve the best seafood imaginable. It's all served "dim sum" style which means platter after platter of delicious entrees are brought out and put in the middle of table for everyone to enjoy. We ate lobster, shrimp, calamari, various whole steamed white fish served the fish head on the platter, prawns.....and of course other vegetable, noodle and dumpling feasts.

Unfortunately, the rest of the week didn't go as smoothly for me. My evil flu returned on Thursday evening and knocked me out until Sunday. I hope my immune system kicks in gear soon because being sick is getting old. I'm feeling much better now and so is Bailey! You're probably asking yourself, "was Bailey sick?" Well, not sick exactly but the old girl's joints have been bothering her and she's having trouble jumping on the couch and bed. (Some meanies like my brother-in-law John might say she shouldn't be jumping on the bed and couch in the first place, but I say pbbllhhtttt to that.) The good news is Bailey's new vet has started her on weekly injections and daily pills which will help rebuild her joints. She had her 1st injection last week and already seems a little spunkier. Anything for our little Bailey.
